Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School – Newham

Up to £125 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)
Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a secondary school in Newham, supporting students with a range of behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a long-term, temp-to-perm opportunity for someone confident supporting young people both in and out of the classroom, using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches to help students re-engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour and SEMH support across KS3 and KS4
Support students in lessons, intervention spaces and during unstructured times
Use de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour safely and effectively
Build positive, trusting relationships with students
Work closely with pastoral teams, SEN staff and teaching staff
Support implementation of behaviour and support plans
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting students with behaviour and SEMH needs
Understanding and practical experience of de-escalation techniques
Confidence working in a secondary school setting
A calm, consistent and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Background in SEN, youth work, mentoring or pastoral roles (desirable)
