We have a great opportunity to work with our Higher Education client based in Uxbridge, West London. This is a 6 month temporary Department Administrator paying £13.86 per hour. You will currently be working at home and will return to a hybrid working pattern, which will be 3 days on campus and 2 days at home so you will need to be able to travel to Uxbridge.

Main accountabilities:

To be the focal point for the Department's staff and provide a wide-ranging high level administrative support across the Department that includes the co-ordination of the budgeting and resource administration, personnel/HR matters as well as the support requirements of the Department, including secretarial support to the Head of Department.

To provide an efficient and effective high standard of general secretarial and administrative support to the Department(s), e.g. email correspondence, diary management, copy typing, minute taking, maintaining files, organising travel arrangements, expenditure administration e.g. time sheets, expense forms, etc.

To act as the Departmental focal point for all staff for department and general information.
To provide secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Department(s) and ensure that the Head of Department is briefed on important communications and correspondence at all times, particularly when away from the office.
To support the Head of Department(s) in the preparation and provision of reports, minutes and information, in a timely fashion.
To provide support and minute taking to Department and University committees, ensuring they are properly managed and supported in accordance with the University regulations, policies and procedures. Also ensuring that actions arising are promptly dealt with and the results of the actions fed back at the next available opportunity.
To ensure and provide a comprehensive and high level administrative support to the Head of Department(s) and the academic staff including booking venues, accommodation, equipment and hospitality, etc. within the University and, where appropriate, externally.
To maintain an overview of the administrative functions and ensure there is adequate support.

Experience of Higher Education administration

A general understanding of the needs of an academic unit

Experience and skill in use of full suite of Microsoft Office applications
