EAL Teaching Assistant **

SEPTEMBER START – FULL TIME MONDAY-FRIDAY 8:30AM-4PM
We are currently working with a mainstream secondary school in Redbridge, East London, who are currently recruiting for an EAL Teaching Assistant. The position will be in the school's EAL department which caters for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, where you will be expected to support all children including those who are on the SEN register.
The school has separate EAL departments and has excellent facilities, catering for all types of SEN and EAL needs so students are guaranteed high teaching standards and levels of support. Statemented SEN students will generally be assigned to one teaching assistant who will also be able to offer mentoring.
The school is within walking distance to a tube station and is on several bus routes.
You will be expected to work with small groups or on a one to one basis, this could be within the SEN unit or sometimes within a mainstream class setting.
Key skills and experience needed:
Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
Degree educated in a relevant subject
Strong behaviour management
One to one and small group work
Enthusiasm and friendly approach
