Curriculum English leader – SEMH Teacher – KS3 & KS4

The school:

We are currently looking for a Secondary curriculum leader /English teacher for a school's English department teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4. The Teacher will be working with Autistic and SEMH students, based in Sutton and will be teaching small classes of students at low ability who need academic as well as social development. You will also be required to lead the department and manage teachers within the department. There are 5-6 students in a class with one to two Teaching and Learning Support Assistants. The school is a therapeutic school which helps with the behaviour and allows a calm environment.

They are learning at lower levels and some on the correct levels depending on their abilities in KS4 The Teacher will become part of a team that specializes in delivering curriculum designed to meet individual needs and give our students the best possible educational outcomes.

You will be required to lead and take part in management meetings and every day running of the department.

The role:

Plan, deliver and assess outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable young people to learn
Be a class tutor, ensuring pastoral needs are met and establishing excellent relationships with parents and carers staff member.
Supervise the department and ensure every day running, lead by example and assist all staff in your department.
Engage and motivate pupils
Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, parents, and other professionals
Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom
Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school
Engage in whole school activities as required by the Headteacher
Plan and lead children in off-site enrichment activities
Ensure you uphold all safeguarding procedures, including engaging in annual safeguarding training, including induction training

The school: is a school based in the Sutton area, the school is specialist school. They are a specialist school and help children with bringing out their talents and Strengths through Therapy and Sports.

The school is a secondary school, the students are referred from all the Local borough surround Areas.

The school has gone from strength to strength to ensure the Accessibility for the students.

They look for candidates to work one to one and in small groups with the students, you must be enthusiastic and have the knowledge or want to learn and trained to work with SEND.

You must have:

Successful class teaching experience.
Experience of working with children with SEND
A commitment to ongoing professional development.
An excellent knowledge of the specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught.
