Head of Motor New Business
We're looking for a strategic Motor Insurance leader with a strong customer focus and commercial mindset, to innovative and seek out competitive opportunity.
As part of the trading leadership team, you will play an active role to define, shape and set our commercial strategy to deliver trading outcomes and ensure deep insight into the drivers of performance.
Leading all Price Comparison Website (PCW) and affiliate relationships across the Hastings group, the candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of building commercial relationships to drive profitable volume.
Based either at our Bexhill group head office or our London Cannon Street office – with the flexibility to work from home.
How you will make a difference:
Accountable for the delivery of the Motor category new business retail trading outcomes as per budget, including new business income and volume, while optimising long-term value
Responsible for ensuring full understanding of trading performance and underlying drivers across intra-day to multi-year horizons. Engaging with stakeholders to ensure aligned understanding of business performance and underlying dynamics
Facilitating the prioritisation of trading actions and other trade-offs to ensure optimal trading outcomes are maintained
Leading the day-to-day management of all PCW partnerships and identifying potential PCW commercial opportunities
Managing and engaging stakeholders in a matrixed environment to ensure timely delivery of trading actions, enabling delivery of expected new business performance
Identify trading performance improvement opportunities, working across the matrix to prioritise, secure resource and deliver as appropriateAbout you
You have a strong understanding of Personal Lines General Insurance products and operations, developed through leadership roles in Commercial and trading.
You will have a strong and proven commercial acumen and track record of success with the mechanics of the retail insurance P&L and drivers of performance with experience of driving prioritisation decisions and trade-offs to optimise business outcomes.
We're looking for a customer and commercially focused leader with experience, balancing competing demands to deliver business value whilst being able to leverage understanding of customer needs and behaviours to drive strategic actions.
Your experience includes building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with a proven track record of effectively keeping trading teams well connected to other critical business areas.
