An outstanding special school in Hackney are currently looking for a learning support practitioner to work with students as classroom practitioners and teaching assistant. The school have a successful provision for pupils with autism and other special educational needs (SEN) and are specifically keen on candidates who want to go further into Teacher Training Programmes that can be supported at the school.

The school demonstrate a commitment to the development programme that is focused on teaching children with special educational needs using different techniques that you will be trained in such as TEACHH, SCERTTS and ASDAN.

Salary and benefits

Work from 8.30am to 3.30pm (occasional 1 day till 3.55pm for meeting)
Have the chance to become a teacher at the school
£80-£95 per day

The Practitioner would:

Help all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
Improve countless young lives
Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
Support pupils with communication skills in a classroom
Help pupils develop their communication and life skills in a classroom

The Practitioner we require should have:

Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
Team Teach Training is desired
Experience in using behaviour techniques within a classroom
Knowledge of teaching range Ks1 and Ks2.
Must be Caring, Adaptable and highly intuitive

Classroom Details:

6 Pupils with 3 Support staff and 1 HLTA in the classroom
