Jaded London is a multi-channel, high fashion apparel brand/retailer based in North London UK. Jaded London designs and develops its products in the UK, manufactures in the near & far east and then ships directly to its customers from (url removed) ecommerce store and via wholesale to leading fashion platforms (ASOS etc).

In early 2020 the business faced serious headwinds; a global pandemic meant a number of their wholesale/retail customers had to close their stores alongside material uncertainty from large / unstable customers. This left Jaded London no alternative to pivot their attention to (url removed) and drive their target audience to there.

This move resulted in significant growth in revenue and profits as Jaded London were able to enjoy the benefits from a 1st party DTC strategy.

Since then Jaded London has grown annual revenue to £20m and has ambitious objectives to continue this growth to £100m over the next 3-5 years. The management team believe this objective is achievable through greater focus on its 1st party DTC sales, pro-active international roll-out alongside enhanced paid media and CRM activity to further amplify the great product / brand assets Jaded London has already created.

In May 2021 Jaded London engaged The Growth Foundation, a proven ecommerce growth consultancy (Gymshark, Ruroc, The Hut Group, Schuh) to help Jaded London scale up, and after their initial review a number of next, key hires have been identified, this, being one of them.

Reporting to Jaded London's co-founder and Product Director, your focus is to ensure that we always have the right stock on hand at the right time and in the right quantity. Reporting to Jaded London's MD and co-founder, you'll use your Merchandising skills to prepare and collate regular feedback to the team regarding current performance and emerging trends in order to maximise sales. You will also be managing the delivery and shipment deadlines, identifying risk to ensure accurate intake of stock according to plan levels and provide weekly updates on intake issues. You will make the most of any opportunity to increase profitability, suggesting markdowns, promotions and re-buys where appropriate.

Requirements

THE RIGHT STOCK ON HAND AT THE RIGHT TIME – The right stock is products our target audience wants to buy, on hand means they're in stock, ready to ship when the customer needs them.
HUNT CASH & VALUE GENERATION – Planning our annual orders to maximise cash availability.
Own and drive the entire product category; using data to optimise the sales volume and profitability of all designated product areas.
Forward planning and management of budgets by category, option count, and depth of buy based on the overall business and financial goals of the company.
Deliver strategic direction for product ranges and planning processes.
Control stock levels based on weekly sales and stock intakes, ensuring core lines are always in stock.
Review sales forecasts based on performance, and action re forecasts where necessary, providing detailed analysis and insights on category opportunities.
Analyse and monitor best and worst sellers making informed recommendations for actions to achieve key KPIs.
Recommend promotions and re-buys as necessary, providing analytical support in the development of category plans.
Supply internal stakeholders with necessary data to enable informed decisions and planning.
Responsible for management of delivery schedule and ensuring critical path dates are maintained and stock is delivered on time.
Use insight to influence range and merchandising plans at category reviews, working closely with design and senior stakeholders.Agree purchasing plans with the Product Director & Head of FInance
Provide expertise on current Product / Merchandising best practice, within Apparel and Shoe categories;

5+ years' experience as a Merchandiser or a Merchandising Manager within eCommerce
In-depth experience in an online trade planning role
Strategic mindset with an emphasis on operational excellence
A keen understanding of online customer behaviour
Experience of providing proactive solutions and gaining buy-in from stakeholders
SQL/Querying/BI tool experience
Global experience (USA, Europe)
Multi-Language skills
Purchased Jaded London products, you're a customer (pref not essential)
A strategic thinker, who is confident with managing complicated cross-functional projects and influencing change across senior stakeholders, both internal and external.
Analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret data
Awareness of current and emerging best practice within merchandising/buying with ability to makes recommendations to the business
Commercially minded – strong focus on business development and growth with ability to work towards metrics and targets

Intellectual and emotional intelligence in balanced / equal measure
Are a ‘subjective' thinker in terms of ideas, following your instinct, but you'll be used to using internal/external data to underpin your ideas with confidence
