Parking Controls Design Engineer
This role will focus on carrying out parking control schemes on the highway network.
All applicants must meet all the requirements for this role as you won't be considered for the role otherwise.
Local government experience is essential for this role.
To gather and analyse data (site surveys, condition data, traffic movements) necessary for the design of parking control schemes.
To undertake the detailed design, including the preparation of drawings and the undertaking of public consultation, of parking control schemes.
To prepare of estimates of cost relating to parking control schemes.
To inspect work by contractors and statutory undertakers, checking for quality and quantity and materials as per specification.
Carry out site measurements and inspection preparatory to payment and approval of contractors work.
Undertake checking and amendment of Traffic Management Orders relating to parking control schemes.
Issue works orders and site instructions relating to parking control schemes.
Liaise with contractors and statutory undertaker's representatives on site.
To support and mentor junior staff assisting them with their development through career grades or otherwise.
Work out of hours as necessary for site inspection, recording and work supervision.
Utilise computerised systems as appropriate to the role.
Analyse invoices/claims relating to parking control schemes and make recommendations in relation to payment.
Prepare reports on own work.
Educated to degree level.
An appropriate technical qualification.
Must have experience in structural, drainage and municipal engineering.
