SEN school support worker – Kingston upon Thames
The learners at this school are working at very low levels due to their special needs, which include; Autism, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Complex Needs, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
The learners are aged between 16-21 years old and as well as supporting them in the classroom, some of them will require help with personal care. Therefore, a healthcare, support worker, residential, or nursing background would be well suited. However, those with the right personality and caring nature, but without experience, also tend to do well at this school.
Students and staff enjoy being part of the local community and students are supported in work opportunities with many local businesses and community groups including Home Farm Trust, Shops, local libraries, Mencap and many more. There are great opportunities to support the students in and outside of the classroom.
The school offers a positive, enjoyable, life-enhancing education and provides a range of opportunities for the development of each pupil. All pupils are entitled to a safe, supportive and stimulating environment in which they are happy, healthy and enabled and encouraged to achieve as individuals.
