LTF Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside one of our partner schools in the NW6 area , for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding Primary school in the borough of Brent.
The school caters for students aged Nursery to KS2 with a range of learning difficulties including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and physical, medical and sensory impairments. Located a 5 minute walk from the underground station and with bus stops outside,which makes it easily accessible by public transport.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you would be working with different pupils, assisting the class teacher alongside at least one other teaching assistant, helping to deliver a range of subjects across the curriculum as well as supporting students to live independently. The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is positive and enthusiastic and has a proven ability to manage behaviour and work excellently with teachers, parents and therapists. Due to the communication needs of the students, experience in using PECS and Makaton would be advantageous and with atleast 2 years of 1:1 experience with SEN pupils who have ASD, ADHD and Global Delay.
The school require someone who:
Holds at least two years' experience of working within a school
Knowledge of PECS and Makaton (advantageous)
Holds a teaching assistant qualification or relevant degree
Has a fantastic attendance record
Strong knowledge of behaviour management will be key
Will be able to quickly build relationships with children and staff
Must be willing to work hard, and go above and beyond
Is available to work from October/November 2020
