Site Reliability Engineer – AWS , Kubernetes – Remote (UK) or London

Avanti Recruitment is working with a leading Fintech company in the London to recruit a bright and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE). This can be a fully remote role, you don’t need to go to the office but must be based in the UK.

You will be working on a disruptive Open Banking technology platform and be part of an international technology team to improve the reliability and scalability of their payments platforms. Your role will be to design and deploy cloud based infrastructure, improve service operability (traffic, latency etc.), test the resilience of the systems, automate key deployments, design build and maintain core infrastructure and work as part of a talented SRE team.

We are looking for someone who has worked on multi-tenant platforms with a microservice architecture not just large monolithic applications and understands how this changes your approach to the SRE role. You will need to know how to monitor, run and troubleshoot distributed applications and understand failure scenarios, capacity planning and load-balancing. Whilst we are not looking for an expert Software Engineer, they require someone with programming skills either in Python or Go (Java also considered) for distributed tracing and metrics and how to capture them and set alerts and also write automation scripts.

This will be a great role for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer looking for the next step up in their career working in the fast-paced Open Banking sector with limited red-tape and bureaucracy and working as part of a ‘best in class’ team.

To be considered you will be a bright and talented Site Reliability Engineer with a good degree in Computer Science or related disciplines and proven hands-on experience with many of the following technical stack:

* Kubernetes

* Elastic Search

* Bamboo

* Prometheus

* Jaeger

* Grafana

* Python or GoLang for programming and scripting.

* Understanding of a DevSecOps approach

* Multi-tenant distributed systems
